RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) and RCIA adapted for Children catechists work with the Pastoral Minister and the Faith Formation Coordinator and the process coordinator, Judi Stewart, to implement the many facets of this process for adults and older children interested in joining the Roman Catholic Church. Parish provided sponsors are sometimes also needed to walk the RCIA journey with a catechumen or candidate.

Baptism Preparation (sessions are held monthly) -- First time parents and parents for whom their last experience with the sacrament of Baptism exceeds three years meet with the Pastoral Minister to assist them in preparing for the Baptism of their child.

First Eucharist, First Penance, and Confirmation Preparation Processes are short-term commitments (usually 3-4 sessions). First Penance (late Fall/Winter), and First Eucharistic (Spring) group leaders present review lessons and practice for first reception with candidates. Confirmation is a short term program with usually 4 sessions in late fall / mid winter.

Catechists/Group leaders for Grades K-High School prepare and present lessons on a monthly basis as part of the Families GIFT program. This program will generally take place on either the first Sunday of the month from 12:00-1:30 pm or the Monday following the first Sunday from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Group Aides - Aides assist catechists/group leaders in all programs. Adults and youth in grades 9 -12 are invited to be classroom aides.

Vacation Bible School is held one week in late July / early August for children entering Kindergarten through entering grade 5. Volunteers work as program coordinator(s); craft, snack and activity center leaders; crew leaders; group aides and music leaders.

Children’s lectors (described under Worship)

Training and materials are provided for all volunteers. Volunteers must also participate in an age appropriate version of Creating a Safe Environment; a sexual abuse training process. Adults (18 years and older) must also undergo a criminal background check.
