Decorating Committee works with Liturgy Core to plan and develop the environment of the church (decorations, banners, flowers) for the liturgical seasons, special feast days, and special celebrations. Contact the Martha House at 352-5481. Sacristans prepare the church for assigned Sunday Mass and make sure there are lectors, ministers of communion, altar servers for the celebration. Contact the Martha House at 352-5481 for Ministry Day Training Material. Lectors Two lectors proclaim the Word of the Lord at Masses. Training is provided within the parish. Lectors are scheduled about twice a month depending on Mass preference. Contact the Martha House at 352-5481 for Ministry Day Training Material. Children’s Lectors present the readings of Sunday Mass to children in words they can understand. Young children leave the church with the children’s lector at 9:30 am Mass each Sunday. Ministers of Communion distribute Holy Communion at Weekend Mass. Training is provided; mass preference is considered in assigning. Contact the Martha House at 352-5481 for Ministry Day Training Material. Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound bring Communion weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to homebound parishioners. Training is provided. Contact the Martha House at 352-5481. Altar Servers assist the priest at Mass on weekends, weekdays, on Holy days, at weddings, funerals and sacramental celebrations. Ministry is open to boys and girls in grades 5-12; training sessions are required. Servers are scheduled 4-5 times each 3 month period according to Mass preference. Ministers of Hospitality (previously called Ushers) greet people, manage seating, assist people with special needs, take up the Offertory collection. Contact Jerry Cunningham at 352-9814 for Ministry Day Training Material. Altar Guild provides a service of weekly cleaning of the church on a regularly scheduled rotation.
